چکیده
The pollution of aquatic ecosystems is an issue facing many countries all over the world and may result in issues such as eutrophication coastal zones. Managing this a real challenge. current study focuses on investigation identification environmental characteristics, including sediments, waters, seaweed, seven eutrophicated locations along Mediterranean coast Alexandria (Egypt). Different ecological risk assessment bioaccumulation factors were calculated order to identify probable source degree problem, addition accumulation heavy metals seaweed. characteristics waters chemically analyzed measured. genetically biochemically identified seaweed species Ulva compressa, fasciata, lactuca linzea. sediments El-Tabia location contained highest concentrations Cd, Co, Ni, Pb, because receives these elements from El-Amia drain. Abu Qir was found contain same studied water samples it located much closer harbor. Ecological indices indicated moderate high contamination for most locations. results factor analysis that are accumulators trace elements. These should be further investigated concerning ecotoxicology if they used human diet other benefits. This opens windows research future regarding sustainable management polluted

Potential ecological risk of heavy metals in sediments from the Mediterranean coast, Egypt
BACKGROUND AND AIM Mediterranean Sea, Egypt is an economically important marine environment. During the last decades there has been extensive increase in the levels of urbanization and industrialization along its coastal area. Therefore, the present work attempts to determine the status of heavy metals distribution in sediment samples, and their ecological risk assessment in the studied area. ...
متن کاملEcological risk assessment of heavy metals from cement factory dust
Background: The release of metals from industrial factories is one of the most important sources of environmental pollution. The present study aimed to determine the concentration of heavy metals like cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), and lead (Pb) in dust around the cement factory. Methods: A total of 22 dust samples were collected from areas around the cement factory...
متن کاملHeavy metals bioaccumulation in fish of southern Iran and risk assessment of fish consumption
Background: This study purposed to assess the health risks of heavy metals including nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), mercury (Hg), and lead (Pb) in three widely-consumed fish from the coast of Bandar Abbas (Persian Gulf) and to determine the maximum amounts allowed for consumption according to the degree of contamination. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the summer and fall of ...
متن کاملAssessment of the distribution, bioavailability and ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in the coastal sediments of Qeshm Island (Hormozgan)
Sediment samples were collected from 8 sites in the northern areas of Qeshm Island, Iran to determine the total and partial concentrations of heavy metals including copper (Cu), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), cadmium (Cd), and Iron (Fe), in February 2016. A combination of nitric acid and perchloric acid was used to determine the total concentrations and sequential extraction method was used to analyze...
متن کاملBioaccumulation of Heavy Metals by the Brown Alga Cystoseira Sp. along the Turkish Coast of the Aegean Sea
Brown algae Cystoseira sp. and to gain additional information on the environmental conditions of the area seawater samples were collected from six sampling stations along the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea. Concentrations of Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe were measured for both algae and seawater samples. The heavy metal concentrations detected in algae showed significant differences among all stat...
